Members of the American-French Genealogical Society

- Access to the Research Library, which is open every Monday, 11am -
4 pm , every Tuesday, 1 pm to 9 pm, and most Saturdays (Sept. - May),
10 am to 4 pm.

- Members receive Je Me Souviens, a journal
filled with resources for genealogists, members' research stories,
new member listings, and facts and tips.

- A newsletter, AFGnewS, keeps members informed of

- New members receive individual assistance and training from
experienced and highly competent members.

- Members unable to conduct their own research can utilize the
resources of the library through the Research Committee, a staff of
experienced researchers available at low member rates.

Activities |
- The AFGS conducts an Open House periodically to introduce the
public to our extensive library and our greatest asset, our members.
|
- AFGS HOSTS FIFTH GRADE CLASS -
Students from the Harris School visited the
AFGS library and learned about the “Immigrant Experience” in the city.
|
- We set up exhibits at many local events, such as the Woonsocket
AutumnFest, the LaSalette French-Canadian Pride Day, and the
Heritage Farmers Market.

- Many AFGS members are involved in projects that directly help the
genealogist, such as the Rhode Island Cemetery Transcription
Project.
