BLUE DROUIN Transcription Project Phase 1
Purpose: The purpose of this project is to transcribe the Blue Drouin books
(approximately 1,000,000 marriages) into a computer database.

Progress November 11, 2003, I received some diskettes today which has put the total over 400,000. Thanks to all of you who have been helping with this project. It is still alive and well.

To date we have the following totals.

209,858 received and awaiting editing
42,853 out being edited
149,089 edited and merged into the master database.

401,800 total received to date or about 40% of the total.

For those of you who are working on this project a special thanks. There are some of you that I still have not heard from in spite of repeated e-mails. I must say again, if you have no desire to continue, just send back the material. There are plenty of people who want to help. No hard feelings, all I want is the material back so I can send it on to others.

Thanks to all and have a nice holiday season.

Roger Beaudry
Progress Sept 1, 2001 is the day we finally hit 25% of the total on the Blue
Drouin Project. Mr Eugene Belair's database of 3,361 entries put us over
the milestone. The totals are as follows:

139,126 awaiting being edited
24,168 out for editing
86,838 edited and merged into the master file

250,132 entries received or 25.1% of the estimated 1,000,000 marriages
to be committed to the computer database.

Mr Belair is just one of the many people working on this project, and
I'd like to thank all of you who have helped. Please don't stop now. It
took us about 2 1/2 years to get here, let's keep up the pace. Thanks to
everyone.

Roger Beaudry
Progress: May 6, 2001

Just to let you all know where we stand presently.

Total marriages waiting for editting 112,542
Marriages out being editted 30,613
Marriages editted and in database 72,398

Total marriages presently typed into databases 215,553

Not bad for a project only 2 years old. Again I must ask everyone who
has not returned anything to me in a while to get in contact with me.

Thanks

Roger Beaudry

BLUE DROUIN Transcription Project Year End Update December 31,1999
Purpose: The purpose of this project is to transcribe the Blue Drouin books  (approximately 1,000,000 marriages) into a computer database.
Project
Coordinator:
Roger Beaudry - E-mail or contact Roger Beaudry for information.
Status:  Blue Drouin input Project

Since this is a year end report it will be longer than usual. Sadly we did not meet the goal of 100,000 marriages in the database by Dec 31st, but the results were not too shabby for a project which is only about 10 months old. We presently have 87,854 marriages recorded or about 8.8% of the entire database. Of these, 61,500 need to be edited, 9,190 are edited on paper and need only be corrected on the computer, and 17,164 are merged into the master database.

Some volunteers have asked me the status of various surnames. The balance of this report is a listing of surnames received by me and their status. Those names followed by "*" have been merged into the master database, all others are either waiting for editing or edited on paper.

I hope this helps everyone:

Arseneault, Aucoin, Audette, Avon, Beaudry*, Beausoleil*, Bedard, Belair, Berger*, Berneche, Bernier, Bertrand*, Bilodeau, Blondeau, Blondin, Bolduc*, Bourgault*, Boutin, Brodeur, Buteau*, Cardinal, Cartier*, Cassin, Chauvin*, Constantineau*, Demers, Desmarais, Desnoyers, Duval, Fevrier*, Fissiau, Gaboriau, Garand, Gaulin*, Genereux, Genest, Gonthier, Gourd(e), Gregoire, Hebert, Houle, Labelle, Laberge, Lacroix*, Laferriere, Lamoureux, Lapalme, Lapan, Laramee, Lariviere, Lavallee, Lavigne, Lavoie, Ling, Lizotte, Marcotte, Mercier, Migneau, Noel*, Papineau, Paquette, Paul/Paulhus, Picard, Pierre, Pigeon, Poutre, Rainville/Drainville, Rondeau, Roquet, Samoisette, Sarrazin, St Arnauld*,          St-Germain, St Laurent, Surprenant, Surreau, Vachon, Valois, and Verboncoeur.

See any names that interest you? Maybe you'd like to edit a particular name. Please let me know.

To everyone reading this message, I wish you and your family a Merry
Christmas and Happy New Year.

Roger Beaudry
