In the section "Save in" make a note
where you will be saving the file to. This way you can find the
file later. |
|
|
In the section "File name" click on
the area and type your AFGS member number. Do not add the .ged to
the "File name" this program automatically adds the .ged after the file.
The file name for your first file will be
your AFGS member number preceded by the letter a. If you
are submitting 2 charts the second file name will be your AFGS member
number preceded by the letter b. |
|
|
SEE
the FAQ for complete naming instruction |
|
|
Example for 2 files it
would be: a3677.ged and b3677.ged for individual membership
or a3677f.ged and b3677f.ged for family membership. |
|
|
Each
pedigree chart must be in a separate file |
|
|
The "File name" section should now
show your AFGS number with no extension. Example: 3677 for individual membership or
3677f if you have a family membership. |
|

Select - Save |
| You have just created your GED file
in the directory you specified. |
| Suggest you import the
ged file into a new Family file on your software, and review the
information you will be submitting in the GEDCOM file. |
| In the email with your
gedcom please identify the actual name of the person you want as
the 1st person of your 5 generation chart. |
| IMPORTANT: Please submit any questions
to Bill
before submitting the file. AFGS will process your GEDCOM file
when received and incorporate it with the other GEDCOM files. We
will not be able to make corrections after you submit the file.
All GED files must be named with the AFGS member number. Review
the abbreviated instructions here for naming information. |
| Send an email to AFGSwith your name etc and the GED file as an attachment. |
