| William H. Gilbert, 83, of Wysteria Lane, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. |
| He was the husband of Patricia (Morley) Gilbert. Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Chester and Eda (Koerner) Gilbert, he had lived in Cumberland for the past 46 years. |
| Mr. Gilbert was owner of Concordia Music Corp., and prior to that, he was an engineer for Raytheon and for Sylvania. He was a member, past president, and a Paul Harris Fellow of the Woonsocket Rotary. |
| He was a member of the Caricature Carvers of America and the American-French Genealogical Society. He was an avid musician and played in numerous bands, most notably as the singer and drummer of the Billy Gilbert Band. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and played in the U.S. Army Band. |
| Besides his wife he is survived by five daughters, Cynthia Marshall, Linda Kuchar and Lori Pemberton, all of Cumberland, Caryn Ronci of North Scituate and Jayme Godin of Cumberland; one sister, Lucile Nelson of Newburgh, N.Y.; one brother, Philips Gilbert of Hollywood, Fla.; and eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Chester A. Gilbert Jr. |
| A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 30 at 10 a.m. in St. John Vianney Church, 3655 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will be private. |
