Sister obtained a Bachelor degree from the former Catholic Teachers College, an M.A. from Assumption College and a Ph.D. from the University of Florida. She taught in the elementary schools of the Diocese of Providence until 1981, when she was assigned to Salve Regina College. Sister taught there until 2007 when she left due to illness.
Sister was a genealogist and her historical research resulted in her induction in the American-French Genealogical Hall of Fame in 2004.
She leaves her religious family, the Sisters of Mercy, and two cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Mount St. Rita Chapel, 15 Sumner Brown Rd., Cumberland. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mercy Prayer Service at 10:15. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
