The "Dictionnaire National des Canadiens Francais 1608-1760" better known as the " Red Drouins " is a classic work that you should have in your collection along with Tanguay and Jette Dictionaries. It is a three volume set, printed on high quality paper and hard bound with red and "gold" covers. Each volume contains approximately 700 pages. Volume 1 and 2 are the actual dictionaries. They trace family lines from father to father ending with the first settler who came to Canada. Volume 3 is a collection of stories written by the Drouin Institute about various people in the dictionary. Book number 3 is available in French and English.
Volume 1 and 2 are the actual dictionaries and .are in French, but it is just marriages and not difficult to understand.
